Rohin is a twelve year old pupil at a Muktangan school. Here he talks about his family, his experiences at school - and his love of cricket!
What do you like best about Muktangan?
The teachers at Muktangan are my favourite. From the teaching method they use we understand better. If we don’t understand something, the teachers do many experiments for us to show us different ways of understanding. It makes us understand better.
What is your favourite subject at Muktangan?
My favourite subject is circle time bcause in this period we can share our feelings and emotions with teachers and our friends.
How long does it take you to get to school in the morning? And what is your mode of transport?
It only takes me 2 to 3 minutes because I live very near! I walk and meet my friends.
Who do you live with?
In my family there is my sister, my father, my mother and myself. Sometimes my Granny comes, she stays with us alternate months. When she’s not with us she lives with my Uncle.
Do you have a favourite colour?
I like red colour because it is a symbol of love.
What are your hobbies?
My hobby is reading and learning but I also like to play cricket very much. I am a fan of cricket. Dale Steyn is my favourite cricketer.
What music do you like?
I like patriotic music songs.
What do you like about living in Mumbai?
I like living in Mumbai because it is a diverse place. People of all religions come to Mumbai, it’s a very huge place. I also like the famous food items of Mumbai, like Vada Pav.
What would you like to do when you grow up?
When I grow up I’d like the be a navy officer and I already joined the navy core in Mumbai. I’m doing the training so I can become a navy officer.
